About the Sports Cell, SLS-H

Sports and Games are essential components of human resource development, helping to promote good health, comradeship and the spirit of healthy competition, essential for developing well-rounded individuals ready to shape our nation's future. We at SLSH believe that sports are not merely an object of competition or well-being but a culture. A culture which gives the students a levelled playing field to compete and accomplish what they have trained and practised, an environment where such achievements are celebrated, and to understand the hard work and effort which goes into it. We at SLSH's Sports Cell believe that more and more engagement in sports has always proved beneficial for the overall development.

The Sports Cell is appointed every year, with an aim to support the sports council of SLSH and to conduct various events inside the campus. The Cell is responsible for conducting various events including our flagship events such as Symbiosis Sports League, Game of Turfs and many more. The Sports Cell also aids the Student Council during Syminaret, which is the annual fest which includes sports as well.

Objectives of the Cell:

  • Foster Active Participation: Significantly increase student engagement in all campus sports and games by conducting internal events.

  • Identify & Nurture Talent: Provide platforms to identify, develop, and support emerging student athletes.

  • Support Inter-Collegiate Representation: Aid the Sports Council in preparing and representing SLS-H in external competitions.

  • Promote Holistic Well-being: Enhance physical, mental, and social health through regular sports activities.

  • Facilitate Key Sporting Events: Ensure seamless planning and execution of major campus events like Syminaret, SSL and GOT.

  • Enhance Sports Infrastructure: Contribute to the continuous improvement of campus sports facilities and resources.
