On 04th October 2018, SCOPE-H started functioning at the Hyderabad campus. Symbiosis Community Outreach Program and Extension, Hyderabad (SCOPE-H) works to provide holistic development and social upliftment of the community by training students to undertake tasks outside the academic realm and to learn the values of empathy and compassion. SCOPE-H has conducted many successful events inside and outside the Campus after its formation in 2018. These include Blood Donation Drives, Cleanliness Drives as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan Mission, Medical Camps, Mental Health Awareness, Cancer Screening, etc.
Other Schemes are introduced for the upliftment of Society.
A Mega Health Camp was conducted. Paediatrician, General Physician Gynae and Ob doctors from community hospital Goverment were invited to examine the patients. Medicines were brought from PHC Nandigama. Pharmacist came to distribute the medicine. Lab technician came to do the blood and urine test.
Dr. Ravi Jain Director SIBMH, Dr. S. S. Dari Director SLSH. Faculty members and villagers who are working at both the institution were assembled at a common Place Lecture series on women empowerment cake cutting, Distribution of Gifts. Activity was conducted for village folks.
This was a mega health camp organised by Scope Symbiosis Hyderabad Campus in collaboration with Basavatharakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Centre Hyderabad and Basti Dawa Khana, Lanka Slum. The community hall which has large space was utilized for health camp. Basvatharakam’s large Van was parked with facility for radiological investigations. Specialist Doctors from the field of Gynae ob, cancer specialist, Doctors from Basti Dawa Khana all were there. In all 138 patients examined for cancer. 80 patients Screened, 22 pap smear done. Event took place in Slum.
Health talk to create awareness about Diabetes Milletus and Cardiac care PPTs were sent from SCHC Pune.
Same were used for delivering this lecture to Villagers by Dr. Karthik M O from SCHC Hyd Campus and Col. Jayalakshmi.
Doctors from Jims Medical College and Hospital, Dr. lakshmi, MD Ob Gynae, Dr. Sudhamathi, Dr. Phalgune Md Of preventive of social Medicine, Vikas Tarangini Volunteers to Screen Women for cancer.
Total 134 personel were checked for general parameters. Three of them had high BP. Nine had High Blood Sugar Value. Colposcopy done for 45 women. Thirthteen women were found to be having abnormal findings. They were all given referral forms.
184 bottle of blood withdrawn from students , Teaching, Non teaching Faculty , Villagers , Housekeeping staff who are from these villages were handed over to Doctors from Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Society.
A mega event was planned for Teachers Day in the ZP School Mamidipalle. Lecture Series by students, Col Jayalakshmi, Dr. Ridhi Rani delivered on importance of teacher’s day. Sports activities like musical chair, running race, KHO KHO were taught and made the Students play in their sports ground. Prize distribution done. Saplings were planted at Campus by students of Environmental Law cell, SCOPE Students, Volunteers and other students. Similarly an effort was made at ZP School Mamidipally to plant the saplings . Tree plantation drive in all the villages through Sarpanch and door to door distribution of plants.
Swatchhata Abhiyan GOI / Mandate “when there is both inner and outer cleanliness it approaches godliness”. MG Gandhi Very Large Number of students from Hyderabad Campus volunteered for 02 october Swatchhata Abhiyana. Both The Sarpanchs have extended good co operation. All students and sarpanch office people paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi before proceeding to village Dr. Sarfaraz Ahmed Khan, former Director SlSH took great initiative in Swatchhata Abhiyan. Col. Jayalakshmi and Dr. Ridhi Rani Participated in the event whole heartedly. Swatchhata activity began in a big way. Students went to each and every Nook and corner and cleaned the entire village. Garbage Van was stand by. Immediately all the garbage from both the villages were cleared. Symbiosis gave clean place to the villagers. ZP school was also thoroughly cleaned.
Health Camp at Mamidipalle Village was Conducted on 20-10-2019 in collaboration with
Swachhatha Pakhwada of a Fort Night Duration was a Mandate from GOI starting from 16-01-2020 to 31-01-2020. It included various activities like for eg: Conservation of forest , Conservation of energy , Safe Drinking water Supply, Use of waste and say No to one time use of plastic. Best out of waste, presentation of innovative technologies for waste recycling energy conservation etc.
Lady Housekeeping staff were invited to attend the International Womens Day The Aims were to boost their morale up and distribute gift to them. Maximum number of people attended the function. 250 people attended the programme.
Prevention of Home accidents from the following appliances Pressure Cooker, gas Stove , Gas Cylinder , Induction Pate, Heater, Mixie, Iron, Heating Rod / water Heater Place and Time of the event: Symbiosis Hyderabad Campus – assembly Hall and 2-4 pm.
Students SIBMH and SLSH maximum faculty from the institution attended the session Dr. smitha Sharma gave a brief description about how to be mentally healthy. Mr. Raghu an Apang by accident drew maximum attention from students group. The auditorium was full just to listen to him who gave an account of how to live life with dreams. Ms. Elizibeth taught them how to practice yoga. On the whole the entire session was a big success.
Dr. Akhil reddy – M.O S.C.H.C Hyderabad Campus, Col jayalakshmi,.N Incharge Scope Hyderabad Campus, Dr. Ridhi Rani. Asst. Pro. Hyderabad gave a brief description about corona virus and the preventive measures to keep the infection away from the individual Awareness Programme for the villagers about Corona Virus, Village covered was Mamidipalle, Gudi mamidipalle and Majid Mamidipalle.
Dr.Sudhamathi and her associates from JIMS Medical college Shamshabad in collaboration with SCOPE Hyderabad Campus. Distibution of Prophylactic Homeopathic Medicine for 7 villages close to Symbiosis Hyderabad Campus. Modallaguda Village, Manchan Pahad & Antireddyguda etc., was covered. Distribution was carried out at SLSH, SIBMH and Society staff. So around 3000 people were covered.
