Alternative Dispute Resolution Society (ADRS) is a specialised society essentially working towards the inculcation of practical and research skills primarily in the field of ADR within the student community. Bearing in mind the complexities involved in the commercial disputes and family matters along with the evolution of this field and industry requisites, ADRS focuses on sensitizing and creating awareness of the alternative method of settlement.
Alternative Dispute Resolution Society (ADRS), under the aegis of Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad is organising the 1st National Mediation Competition from 27th to 29th March 2020. The competition is institutionally supported by the esteemed Nani Palkhivala Arbitration Centre (NPAC), Bar Association of India, Society of Indian Law Firms (SILF), Hyderabad Arbitration Centre [HAC], Kovise Foundation Conflict Resolution International (KFCRI) and Foundation for Comprehensive Dispute Resolution (FCDR). Furthermore, the competition is also supported by SCC Online and Eastern Book Company (EBC) as our Knowledge and Research Partners, Lawctopus and Live Law as our Media Partners respectively. This Competition aims to serve as a prestigious platform for participants from various Law schools to portray, practice and hone their mediation and negotiation skills and shall also include an exhaustive training session before the commencement of the competition. The competition would also act as a catalyst to facilitate the communication between students and eminent lawyers, judges and other professionals and industry leaders worldwide.
The competition will be in the format of a Mediation Competition. Each participating team would comprise of 3 individuals which are further divided into 2 categories. One individual would serve as a Mediator and the remaining 2 individuals would comprise of the Mediating Pair. Each Mediating Pair would further consist of a client and counsel.
Further, the competition would commence from Preliminary Rounds which would be conducted from both sides i.e. each team represents both the requesting party and responding party. After the evaluation and declaration of results, the top 8 teams would advance to the Quarter-Finals and knock-outs shall begin from the same.
Notably, the competition would also act as a catalyst to facilitate communication between students and eminent lawyers, judges, and other professionals and industry leaders worldwide.

Interested teams/Team In-Charges are required to provisionally register for the competition by way of filling the Google form.
The Organizing Committee will communicate the acceptance of the provisional registration and e-mail the Registration and Payment Form along with the necessary bank details for the completion of registration formalities.
The Participating Team shall mandatorily fill their necessary details as contained in Annexure A of the aforementioned form.
The payment of registration fees amounting to INR 10,500 per team (inclusive of GST @18%) shall be made by way of an online transfer. The payment details are to be filled in Annexure B.
Further, the Participating Team shall mandatorily email a scanned copy of the duly completed Registration and Payment Form along with the receipt of payment.
The Organizing Committee shall send a confirmation of participation email after verifying the entire process as enlisted under the aforementioned clauses.
In case of any withdrawal after making the payment of the registration fee, the same shall not be refunded.
Any failure or non-adherence with the aforementioned procedure may be treated as withdrawal from the competition and no claim of whatsoever nature shall be entertained thereafter.

Note: It is recommended that the Google form is duly filled by a member of the ADR Centre/Cell/Society or Moot Court Association. However, in case of absence of such organizations in an institution, the interested team may fill the Google form and the same will be verified by us.
