SYMBIOSIS LAW SCHOOL LEARNING RESOURCES CENTRE STUDENT SERVICES

OBJECTIVES

To support the community of SLS, Hyderabad in their academic pursuits. To provide effective information services. To enable effective teaching, learning, research, and dissemination of Knowledge through technology.
A UNIQUE FEATURE OF OUR LEARNING RESOURCES CENTER IS OPEN ACCESS TO ALL RESOURCES. It is a modern automated library, moving rapidly towards digital resources and services.

BOOK BANK & STUDY MATERIAL FACILITY:Every semester the students are provided with 7-10 text books as study material. Book bank facility is yet another important part of the Library- to foster continuous study habits throughout the year.

A good Bare Acts Collectionsupports Legal Research efforts.Hard Copies of Important Judgmentsare also available.

A Special Collection of 1082 Encyclopedias, Reports, Commentaries are the backbone of research for Moot Courts, Client Counselling and other competitions. A Mooter Zone is under development to meet the rising need for discussion space.

LIGHT READING: Over 2400 books on socio-political issues; fiction; self-development; biographies; business books help meet the reading appetite of the students. They have the privilege of Open Access to light-reading book shelves.

  1. Manupatra- Judgments of Supreme Court, All High Courts, Central and State Statutes, Commentary and Treatises, Committee Reports, Notifications and Statutory Orders and more

  2. SCC Online- Access complete coverage of the Supreme Court, all High Courts, Tribunals and Commissions, Statutory Material and many foreign jurisdictions and International material. 68 Indian Legal Periodicals are also available.

  3. LexisNexis- Interdisciplinary, international database of over 18,000 sources including newspapers, journals, reports, case law, government documents, and reference works

  4. West Law- Provides access to legal encyclopedias, treatises, legal periodicals, and law reviews. NLU journals are also available.

  5. Current updates, being important for active legal practice, the following services are provided:

  6. CAS (Current Awareness services): On Notice boards, Curiosity Learning Management system, Library Twitter (@SLSHLibrary) and so on.

  7. Updates on Moot Court Announcements, Publishing Opportunities; Call for Papers, Internships, etc.
